Mhairi Wild - Visual Artist
Mhairi Wild is a process led interdisciplinary artist exploring reflexive material response to poetic text.
Mhairi was born in Glasgow but has lived in several locations across Tayside in the intervening years. She is currently based in Dundee as part of a thriving creative community. She has undertaken collaborative projects with various partners including Dundee Rep Theatre, Perth Theatre, Pitlochry Festival Theatre, Perth and Kinross and Dundee councils, Perth Museum and Galleries, the DCA, and the Oor Wullie Bucket Trail.
She taught at Dundee and Angus College and DJCAD University of Dundee on graduating, before starting he own practice in 2008. She has over 20 years experience leading community and CPD workshops in both informal and formal settings.
Having completed her MFA in Art and Humanities, Mhairi is currently collaborating with Dundee Rep Theatre to produce an installation for McManus Art Gallery and Museum, which will open to the public, towards the end of 2021 and be on display for 12 months.
She was also invited to participate in 'Sinder' which is an original film documenting the experience of women in Dundee during the Covid 19 pandemic. The film will be available to stream for free from 3rd October 2021through Rep Studios. This collectively written text is performed by actors from Dundee Rep Ensemble alongside some members of the community. The project has been led by Jess Thorpe and Tashi Gore.
